Welcome to the big-gulp site!

The big-gulp archive is for folks who are sexually turned on by the idea of a person being swallowed alive (kind of like a python having dinner, except that it's often a larger human doing the swallowing). Picture the giant swallowing Jack (of Beanstalk fame), and you get the idea. Straight and gay, male and female, swallower and swallowee are all welcome here.

Why is this a turn-on? Nobody seems to know, but for whatever reason, there's a substantial cadre of us who really get off on this stuff. If you're a psychology major reading this site because you're writing your thesis about us, please let us know if you figure out why we have this kink: we'd like to know!

What big-gulp isn't:

Commonly made requests

Maintaining big-gulp is a lot of work for the volunteer staff. It's fine to ask us to do something which benefits everyone (fixing a broken link, etc.), but we ask that you help us out by not requesting things that benefit only you. We just don't have the manpower/womanpower to keep up with such requests. Following are some of the more common requests of this kind:

Linking to the big-gulp site

Anybody who wants to link to the big-gulp site is welcome to do so. Please link to the disclaimer page, not the main page. Don't link to pages within the site since this misses the disclaimer, and also because I may occasionally move things around within the site.

We sometimes get mail like this: "We just linked to your site, and we'd love it if you link to ours in return!" Again, you're welcome to link. As for linking to your site, our rule is simple: if your site has swallowing content, we'll provide a link to it; otherwise, we won't. This helps keep the site focused.

The site has received various net awards, some less dubious than others. You're welcome to recognize the site in this manner. We don't link to the award graphics, though, since this just slows down load time without adding content. We don't list the awards on the site since it would be just one more thing to keep track of.

big-gulp policy on underage characters in stories

Policy:We will not post any story in which a clearly underaged character has sex (We take "underaged" to mean "under 16", since 16 is legal in some states in the U.S.). Further, we will not post any story where a minor's physique is described in what we judge to be a sexualized manner. We will post no picture of a subject who appears to be under 18.

Sean writes the following:

I spent a good bit of time looking into the legality of fictional erotic stories involving underage characters. This has proven to be a remarkably difficult question to answer. I've found abundant confirmation of what I already knew: erotic photographs of underaged subjects are illegal (as they should be). But while I think that fictional text should be legal, I haven't been able to find out whether it is legal. A search of Lexis-Nexis was no help, and nobody on QueerLaw answered my question. I asked the ACLU, but they do not provide the service of researching and answering this kind of question. The most I've gotten so far has been the offhand opinions of some of the readers of this site.

I doubt that a story in which a minor is merely swallowed is illegal, since swallowing is not a sex act, and since this kind of thing happens in Hollywood movies without anybody being prosecuted. Thus, I'll post stories where a minor is swallowed, as long as there is not substantial erotic attention given to the minor's physique. "Say Uncle" is an example of a story which I believe passes this test, since all of the erotic description is of the uncle (the boy is barely described at all).

If anyone knows the law on this matter, please let me know. I'm looking for court precedents, references to specific legislation, etc. I abhor censorship, and I want to restrict as little as possible.

For the record, I will cooperate to the fullest extent in helping law enforcement to prosecute any actual cases of adults having sex with children. There is a big difference between fantasy and reality.
